Executive Bio: Dave Eaton, SVP of Sales, Central Plains Region

Dave Eaton began his career in 1983 when he started working for IBM, and he held a variety of engineering, sales, sales management and staff positions throughout his successful 14-year career with the company. In 1997, Mr. Eaton joined EMC Corporation to help them build and manage a new sales territory being opened in Iowa and Nebraska. In 2001, he joined Vignette Corporation, the leading provider of Web content management and application solutions, where he was vice president of Sales for the central United States.

In 2003, Mr. Eaton joined MSI Systems Integrators as the vice president of Sales for their KS/MO Region. Under his leadership over the next three years, the region’s annual sales tripled to almost $40 million. As a result of his accomplishments, in 2006 Mr. Eaton was promoted to executive vice president of Sales for MSI, with responsibility for sales execution and results across the entire company. In this role, he was responsible for building high-performance sales teams and applying them to other regions within the company. Under his leadership, MSI was able to grow MSI’s business to almost $400 million in annual sales over the next five years. Mr. Eaton was also actively involved in all aspects of sales operations, and was instrumental in leading the transition of the company from being primarily a hardware/software reseller to a services-led, solutions-oriented company. When MSI was acquired by Sirius in December 2010, Mr. Eaton assumed the position of senior vice president of Sales for the company’s Central Plains Region.

Mr. Eaton holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and an MBA, both from the University of Iowa.
