As Sirius’ vice president of Finance, Alan Abbott is responsible for corporate reporting, budget, planning and business reporting. He came to Sirius with the acquisition of Varrow, Inc., where he was director of Finance and Administration handling back-office functions including accounting, contracts, HR, IT and facilities.
Prior to joining Varrow, Mr. Abbott spent 10 years at Bank of America, where he managed many large international technology projects including acquisition integrations, process design, and business process outsourcing. He is certified as a Six Sigma Champion and Six Sigma Greenbelt using the Design for Six Sigma methodology.
Mr. Abbott began his career in 1988 as a network/server engineer, and held many Novell, Microsoft and Cisco certifications. He transitioned into services leadership in various roles including program manager, managing consultant, engineering manager and director of Professional Services.
Mr. Abbott has served on the planning board committees of Glens Falls, NY and Queensbury, NY, and also served on the board of directors of Union Academy in Monroe, NC, including three years as chairman.
