CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named Sirius Senior Vice President Deborah L. Bannworth to its 2021 Power 60 Solution Providers list, an elite subset of honorees among the highly regarded CRN 2021 Women of the Channel list.
Bannworth oversees Partner Alliances, Inside Sales, and Maintenance Sales & Services at Sirius, a leading national managed services provider and integrator of technology-based business solutions that span the data center and multiple lines of business.
The Power 60 Solution Providers are chosen by the CRN editorial team based on their contributions, expertise and dedication to building strong solution provider businesses. The award recognizes an exclusive subgroup of industry role models who continue to drive professional success through leadership and dedication to their own organizations and the entire IT channel, according to CRN.
“CRN’s 2021 Women of the Channel list acknowledges accomplished, influential women whose dedication, hard work and leadership accelerate channel growth,” said Blaine Raddon, CEO of The Channel Company, in a written release. “We are proud to honor them for their many accomplishments and look forward to their continued contributions to the IT channel.”
Sirius Executive Vice President of Sales Muditha Karunatileka, who has worked with Bannworth for nearly 25 years, said, “For me, there are four things that define Deborah and her success: her dedication to making Sirius a better place, her willingness to help people within Sirius and especially the sales team, her incredible work ethic, and her follow-up on tasks large and small.”
Background and honors
Bannworth’s recent channel contributions include the development of Sirius’ diversity program to guide the Sirius salesforce on inclusion of diverse partner companies in transactions. The program, which follows the guidelines of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, was created to increase procurement opportunities for direct and indirect spending with minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, disabled-owned and other small businesses.
Her recent awards include the Global Touch IT Wonderous Women list in 2020 for sales leadership. In her personal life, she has been lauded by the Atlanta Community Foodbank as a member of its Leadership Circle. She also currently oversees the Bannworth Charlton fund, a non-profit charitable organization she established in memory of her grandmother to support the needs of the blind and the hungry.
Bannworth joined Sirius in 1997 as a full-time sales rep. In 2000, she was promoted to area sales manager, and in 2004, she was promoted to vice president of Sales for the East region. In 2014, Bannworth was asked to create and spearhead Sirius’ newly formed Inside Sales division. At the same time, she was asked to oversee Sirius’ Partner Alliances team with responsibility for maintaining relationships with Sirius’ partners. In 2017, Bannworth was promoted to senior vice president, Partner Alliances & Inside Sales and in 2019, her role expanded further to include leading Sirius’ Maintenance/OneTouch Sales & Services national team.
