Sirius makes a big gain in their Healthcare Security team with the onboarding of former Intermountain Healthcare CISO, Karl West. Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Intermountain Healthcare is a not-for-profit healthcare system with more than 41,000 caregivers and an integrated delivery network of 23 hospitals and 300 clinics. Under West’s guidance, the healthcare system has become a leader in innovative healthcare technology adoption as well as in health information security.
A well-respected speaker and security expert, Karl is highly sought after by other organizations that want to embed holistic solutions into their security strategies. He sits on numerous boards including the Health Information Sharing and Analysis Center, the Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Security, and CHIME to name a few.
The teams Karl has inspired cover a wide range of security specialties, including breach and incident response, governance, architecture, risk and compliance, Identity and Access, eDiscovery, forensics, artificial intelligence, vulnerability and incident management.
