The shifting landscape of cybersecurity threats, tools and best practices challenges even the most experienced and supported IT teams. How can a CISO adapt to and navigate these issues? To help clients explore the new realities of cybersecurity, Sirius hosts twice-yearly Security Executive Briefings.

Each Briefing has a different venue, agenda and speakers, but all are designed to bring together industry peers, experts and leading technology innovators who are focused on the current and future states of cybersecurity.

Welcome to Denver

Our most recent Security Executive Briefing was held this October in Denver. The invitation-only event brought together over 75 attendees who shared two days of insight, networking and fun. With a venue located in the heart of downtown Denver, this event was just steps away from some of the best dining, shopping and nightlife the Mile High City has to offer!

Kicking off

Chris Mierzwa, Sirius’ chief technology officer and SVP, and Chris Hoke, managing director, security for Sirius, opened the Briefing with a welcome to all attendees as we kicked off the first night with a cocktail reception, dinner, and a casual partner expo. Good conversation and cold refreshments were available in equal measure and it was a great opportunity to hear about the latest security solution offerings from some of Sirius’ premier security partners.

On the agenda

The agenda provided attendees an immersion in cybersecurity thought leadership and best practices. Among the topics covered by Sirius Security experts and guest experts were:

  • Security and Containerization
  • Effective Certificate Management With Case Study
  • Next-gen Endpoint Security: Proving the Efficacy of NGAV and EDR
  • Effective IAM: Moving From Identity Chaos to Identity Mastery
  • Secure What Matters Most: Building a Device- and Data-centric Security Program

Especially well-received was the presentation by retired Air Force Major General Earl Matthews of Verodin, the featured keynote speaker on day two of the event. Matthews is a dynamic speaker and his talk on gauging the effectiveness of cybersecurity efforts kept the audience captivated.

Offsite fun

While education is core to every Sirius Executive Briefing, fun is also included! Our private party space at a local brewery included pool tables, dart boards, brewery tours, special tastings of limited-edition craft beers, and an extensive buffet.

Takeaways

This event brought a number of important cybersecurity topics to the forefront for attendees. Client takeaways included both increased awareness and strategy considerations that can improve their organization’s security posture now and in the future.

The Sirius team spent valuable time with clients, gaining an increased understanding of the hurdles and roadblocks in the daily life of a CISO. A special thanks to our solution partners for their continued support. These events are not possible without them.

The next Sirius Security Executive Briefing is already in the planning stages. And, regardless of where it happens, it will be crafted with the purpose of advancing our clients’ cybersecurity knowledge. Be sure to speak with your Sirius representative if you are interested in attending a future Security Executive Briefing.
