In September, Sirius signed an agreement with Avnet, Inc. to acquire select assets from its services portfolio that support digital solutions for specific IBM Software services around commerce, mobility, digital experience, social and portal. The acquisition, which was finalized on October 5, helps strengthen and expand Sirius’ Software Solutions and Services practice; deepen its technical expertise with the addition of offshore capabilities in India; and broaden its solutions portfolio with new offerings, such as digital business services, quality assurance and client testing services.

More than 200 former Avnet employees – based in the U.S. and Chennai, India – have joined the Sirius team, and help strengthen Sirius’ skills in the following areas:

  • Digital Strategy & Design
  • Portal, Social & Mobile
  • Commerce
  • Collaborative Life Cycle Management
  • Offshore Capabilities
  • Managed Services
  • Quality Assurance

The acquisition allows Sirius to offer clients an even more powerful combined software solutions and services organization with more than 400 Software Solutions & Services resources dedicated to helping them achieve the best possible outcomes. The company will also almost double the revenue of its existing Software Services organization.

The company believes the acquisition will also have a positive impact on the technology industry by strengthening its strategic partnerships, and expanding its reach to provide more solutions and additional technical expertise for its clients.
