healthcare technologySirius Computer Solutions has provided solutions for over 4,400 active clients of all sizes and across all industries. But with more than 1,000 healthcare clients across all 50 states, healthcare represents the single largest industry served by Sirius. Through participation in industry groups and standards forums, and by listening to our clients, Sirius has developed the skills, processes and products to meet our healthcare clients’ needs for secure, reliable, scalable and compliant IT infrastructure.

Industry-specific solutions that are improving security, efficiency and responsiveness

Sirius offers reference architectures, service architecture design consulting, infrastructure provisioning services, and managed services for a broad range of HIS solutions, such as the Epic EMR/HIS, secure patient portals, medical-grade wireless networks, mobility solutions, and more. Other solutions as diverse as desktop virtualization and endpoint management are making healthcare organizations more responsive to patient and provider needs, increasing efficiency, and lowering costs.

Sirius is particularly strong in supporting healthcare environments built on the Epic suite of products for electronic medical records (EMR) and administrative support. Sirius has industry consultants, IT service architects, engineers and project managers with EPIC solution experience who work together to take client risk out of Epic deployments.

Our people make the difference

One reason Sirius is so strong in the healthcare market is our professionals like Jim Rice, a director of IT consulting and healthcare industry SME. Jim holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, a bachelor in business information systems, and an MBA in healthcare administration. Jim’s doctoral research is studying IT governance and U.S. healthcare costs. Jim holds an IBM healthcare industry masters certification and is ITIL v2 and v3 certified. He is a member of the ISO/IEC JTC 1, WG6 which focuses on IT Service Governance standards. Jim also serves on the board of directors for the Minnesota chapter of HIMSS.

Jim has worked with clients to address a wide variety of IT optimization, availability, recoverability, security, regulatory response, IT service deployment and IT service governance challenges. That kind of experience gives him unparalleled insights into both the business and technology challenges that face our healthcare clients. As a Sirius IT consultant, Jim can jump in to help with Epic implementations both before and after installation, ensuring that the solution works as it should and that the client can achieve the fastest possible ROI.
