FlexPod, the converged infrastructure reference architecture based on Cisco Unified Computing System servers, Cisco Nexus fabric and NetApp storage systems, enters its fourth year with continued strong market growth and new enhancements.
FlexPod simultaneously supports applications at different stages of virtualization and cloud transformation. New validated designs include enhancements for scalability, capacity and performance for Microsoft Private Cloud, CloudPlatform, vSphere 5.1U1, Nexus 6000 and 9000 series switches, and FlexPod Express.
According to an October 2013 IDC report, worldwide integrated infrastructure and platform sales grew 50 percent year-over-year in the second quarter of 2013. FlexPod was among the top two offerings in this category with $203 million in sales and 26.2 percent of the market, according to the IDC report.
