Executive Bio: Joe Andersen, VP of Technology and Engineering Services
Based out of the Omaha, Nebraska office, Mr. Andersen joined Sirius as part of the MSI Systems Integrators acquisition in 2010. His role facilitates the development and delivery of service offerings that span various IT technologies and disciplines including servers, storage, and project management services. He works with all Sirius service directors and solution architects to formulate service offerings that fulfill diverse client solution needs, as well as directly with clients to examine technologies and services that Sirius can provide.
Mr. Andersen is also responsible for Sirius’ Technology Enablement Centers (TECs) which provide unique value to our clients by allowing business requirements to be examined, refined and aligned with current state-of-the-art information technologies. Additionally, he has responsibility for Sirius’ service operations personnel and processes that support the contracting of services with our clients.
Prior to being promoted to vice president, Mr. Andersen focused on storage hardware and software product lines, as well as affiliated services for storage technologies. He was instrumental in developing Sirius’ TotalStorage Solution Center, one of the first such centers opened in the world. His priorities included managing a storage engineering staff, monitoring storage trends and directions, developing new product and service offerings, and serving as the single point of contact for all Sirius departments, geographies and practices regarding technical capabilities.
Mr. Andersen’s extensive multi-vendor platform experience and hands-on background in software development have served him well in the diverse application of information technology solutions for today’s businesses. He has designed and implemented solutions for a variety of clients in various industry areas, including Wells Fargo Bank, Target Stores, Mutual of Omaha, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Hormel Foods, Farm Bureau Insurance, Anheuser-Busch, First Data Corporation, Hormel Foods, the U.S. Air Force Strategic Command, the U.S. Air Force Weather Agency, and the U.S. Space Environment Center.
Mr. Andersen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from the University of Nebraska, and has completed numerous graduate-level courses in the field of Computer Science. Before joining Sirius, he worked for seven years as a system engineer with Sterling Software and MITRE Corporation, and spent five years as a senior integration/software engineer at Harris Corporation.
